Who am I?
People would describe me as committed, compassionate, approachable, understanding, non-judgemental and down-to-earth. Naturally inquisitive, I often find myself empowering others to reach their goals – no matter how big or small, or what the barriers to achieving these goals are.
Angela would consider her training to be CBT-based, she feels that what is most important in terms of her approach is to recognise that individuals are unique, and will respond to different therapeutic approaches.
It is therefore very important that the approach taken, works for each individual. In order for Angela’s clients to get the most from their sessions, it is important to her that she works hard to develop a welcoming safe space where they feel valued, understood and respected, always.
Angela is a qualified teacher who has confidently met the social, emotional and educational needs of young people and their families for nearly 20 years as a Principal Teacher of Guidance. In this role, Angela taught personal and social education in addition to maintaining a holistic overview of children and young people’s progress in order to identify, plan and, at times, deliver a range of appropriate interventions to address the many barriers to learning.
Over the years, Angela has developed a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience in supporting a wide variety of challenges affecting families such as anxiety, relationship difficulties, attachment issues, anger management, the effects of poverty, illness, bereavement and loss, trauma, career planning, transitions and addictions.
